An emotional and meaningful journey was recently organized by “L’Gadlam“, a project of Seeach Sod, for over 100 yeshiva students — brothers of Seeach Sod participants — who traveled together to southern Israel, including Kibbutz Nir Oz, Mefalsim Junction, and Sderot.
The journey was led by Rabbi Shimon Levy, CEO of Seeach Sod.
The first stop was Kibbutz Nir Oz, which suffered horrific atrocities on Simchat Torah 2024. There, R’ Amotz Bazar, a baal teshuva and resident of the kibbutz, shared the miraculous story of how he and his family survived — protected by the sanctity of their home’s Torah library. A heartfelt prayer was held for the return of the hostages, accompanied by emotional songs and stories of faith that deeply moved the group.
At the next stop — Mefalsim Junction, site of multiple kidnappings and murders including that of Uriel Baruch Hy”d — the group heard from Roi Baruch, Uriel’s brother. Roi shared his pain and resilience as a brother and believer, urging the boys:
“Every prayer brings the hostages one step closer to home.”
The journey concluded in Sderot, where Rabbi Hertzel Shaubi, Rabbi of a local synagogue, told his personal story of miraculous survival. The evening included a festive dinner, a short film presentation about the L’Gadlam initiative, and warm blessings from Torah leaders for the continued success of the program.
Rabbi Kaplowitz, a maggid shiur in one of Jerusalem’s leading yeshivot and the brother of a Seeach Sod participant, joined the journey and expressed his gratitude:
“This trip was a true journey of Emunah, one that gave us strength and perspective for life’s challenges. Thank you to Rabbi Levy and all those doing this holy work.”
At the close of the trip, each participant received a small note card and was invited to write a personal letter to their brother with disabilities — channeling the spiritual strength they had absorbed during the journey into their own family’s mission. The response was deeply emotional.
The journey was accompanied by Rabbi David Druck, chairman of Kisufim, and inspirational singer R’ Yisrael Meir, who elevated the participants with songs of faith and stories that stirred the soul.
