The staff of the Talmud Torah does as much as possible in order to provide the foundations for future growth.<\/p><p><strong>Target Population<\/strong><\/p><p>Boys ages 7-14 with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.<\/p><p><strong>Jewish Studies<\/strong><\/p><p>Our curriculum is built to parallel that of other Talmud Torah schools and includes the study of\u00a0<em>Chumash<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Parshat HaShavua<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Mishnayot<\/em>. We hold\u00a0<em>Siddur<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Chumash<\/em>\u00a0parties.<\/p><p><strong>Professionalism and Technology<\/strong><\/p><p>The school curriculum is innovative and progressive:<\/p><ul><li>The general school curriculum includes all of the subjects specified by the Ministry of Education<\/li><li>The curriculum is adapted to each particular class according to level<\/li><li>Each student has an individualized learning program to help her advance on her academic and skills level<\/li><\/ul><p>The staff uses innovative methods to track and evaluate different approaches that are used to help students advance.<\/p><p><strong>Learning Skills<\/strong><\/p><p>In addition to the study of academic subjects, each class incorporates practice of important learning skills that will assist in advancing students further.<\/p><p><strong>Supportive Infrastructure<\/strong><\/p><p>Pool, Snoezelen room, physical education, emotional intelligence, art, dance, music, puppet theater, animal therapy, occupational therapist, speech therapist, physical therapy, emotional therapy.<\/p><p><strong>Social Life<\/strong><\/p><p>The social experience at the Talmud Torah is a central component, and there are many activities, including group and individual social skills workshops, class programs and parties, and annual events.<\/p><p><strong>Proper Conduct (<em>Derech Eretz<\/em>)<\/strong><\/p><p>We place emphasis on appropriate behavior and proper conduct in public. We have a comprehensive personal safety curriculum.<\/p><p><strong>Independence<\/strong><\/p><p>The Talmud Torah has a unique curriculum to encourage independence in daily life, including a home economics course and other practical clubs.<\/p><p><strong>Professional Staff<\/strong><\/p><p>Our staff includes certified female special education teachers,\u00a0<em>Rabbeim<\/em>, afternoon staff, health professionals, and a social worker.<\/p><p><strong>Hours of Operation<\/strong><\/p><p>8:00 AM \u2013 6:00 PM.
