A "Snoezelen" sensory room is a specially designed space that employs color and light, sounds and texture to create a calm and stimulating environment. A Snoezelen room provides mediated sensory stimulation and is used as a developmental and therapeutic tool. The Seeach Sod apartment on Chayai Adam Street in Jerusalem, is home to Josh May and another 11 men with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities. Their ability to participate in everyday tasks or community activities are more limited. For these men, the need for varied stimulation and activity indoors is crucial. Seeach Sod seeks to create a Snoezelen sensory room for the 12 residents of the apartment on Chayai Adam Street. The room will be established on the ground floor of the apartment by dividing off a section of a larger space.
