Queen for a Day
On Sunday, 20 Seeach Sod mothers enjoyed pampering at our annual “Queen for the Day” event in Ra’anana. Coordinator Shuli Briggs had been in touch with the mothers in advance so they could choose from a variety of self-care treatments. Most of the therapists have been volunteering at Queen for the Day for the past three years. As one return volunteer told us, “It’s the highlight of my year to be able to give of my talents and time to these parents, who need a break from their 24/7 job!”
The women arrived at host Sarah Green’s beautiful home, where they were greeted with a delicious breakfast. They then received the spa treatments they had asked for, underwent a fun jewelry workshop with Gloria Landau and her daughter, and swam in a gorgeous outdoor pool. After a tasty lunch, Seeach Sod Social Worker led the women in a workshop, providing the mothers with practical tools to deal with everyday challenges. After dessert, a raffle (everyone took something home!), and a hilarious laughter yoga session led by Shuli, it was time to go home.
We were overjoyed to give these mothers the chance to have fun and laugh in a different environment. Seeach Sod is here for the whole family – not just the students themselves.
Sarah, Shuli – thank you for an incredible day! The mothers, and all of us here at Seeach Sod, are very grateful.
