Stay in Touch!

At Talmud Torah Otzar Yerushalayim, the students in grades 4-6 are participating in the “Stay in Touch” program. As part of the Life Skills class, under the guidance of the occupational therapist, the students are learning how to talk on the telephone.

Sound simple? The students learned how to dial a number in order, as well as rules regarding various types of conversations – opening a conversation, making a request, concluding a conversation, etc. – as well as how to properly answer a phone call. The class is conducted through a combination of frontal learning, role play with a pretend phone, and making real phone calls to different people.
